Jacob and I went to Bali, Indonesia! It was a trip that I had been dreaming of for quite some time. I know I am not the only one because Bali is rated the number one tourist destination in the world! The internet is flooded with photos and videos of all the beautiful destinations that Bali has to offer.
It really is an amazing and beautiful island, filled with the nicest people, great beaches, fantastic restaurants, and a beautiful and unique culture.
We spent one month in Bali, with seven of those days being spent in the laid back, hipster, surfer’s paradise of Canggu. Everything you read will tell you that Canggu is the place to go for the chill beaches and plethora of cheap and modern cafés and restaurants.
With that being said, we had lots of time to try out so many fantastic cafés and restaurants, so I have put together a list of all of our favorites in this Canggu, Bali food guide.

Canggu really is the place to be if you consider yourself a foodie. We tried so many different places, and barely touched the amount of restaurants and cafés in Canggu, but we found some really great ones and I want to share our favorites!
I consider myself a café connoisseur, so every morning I got to pick from my long list of cafes I wanted to go to… Here were some of my personal favorites.
Best Canggu Cafes
Nüde
Nüde was one of my very favorite cafés that we went to in Bali. Sometimes finding a good coffee in Bali can prove to be difficult, and Nüde had the best coconut milk cappuccino that I had during our whole one month trip. I ordered a mixed berry smoothie bowl with cocoa, coconut, and granola that was quite delicious, and Jake had the shakshouka which consisted of baked eggs, tomato, red onion, parsley, and dukkah.
I should also mention that I was on a giant smoothie bowl kick in Bali, but they just have so many great places with beautiful smoothie bowls! Who doesn’t love fruit??
Crate Cafe
Crate Cafe was another one of our favorite cafés! They open very early, which was perfect for us when Jake wanted to go out surfing early. The atmosphere is great, with an open space, co-working concept. They also give big portions at great prices. Almost all of their breakfast options cost 60,000 IDR, which is less than 4 USD. We came here twice, and of course I ordered one of their smoothie bowl options both times.
Bali Bowls
Bali Bowls was the first café we went to in Canggu, and it had one of my favorite smoothie bowls, the Acai Berry bowl. They also make their own cold brew there, which is a giant plus for us because we love cold brew coffee, and it wasn’t really offered at too many places in Bali! Bali Bowls also has lunch and dinner options like sushi and poke bowls.
Honey,
After enjoying a morning on Canggu Beach, we walked to Honey, for some breakfast, and we were very glad we did. The breakfast brioche and coconut hot cakes were both delicious, and again, they make cold brew coffee! This may sound like a simple thing, but you do not see it at a lot of places in Bali. The food was so good we forget to get a photo until it was almost gone.
Milk & Madu Cafe
Milk and Madu Cafe is another delicious option with big portion sizes. I actually switched it up for once and ordered the breakfast burrito. It wasn’t the cheapest café we went to, but both of us left with left overs and the food was very good! They have all day breakfast, lunch, and dinner options too.
Kynd Community
Kynd Community is a cute vegan café that looks like it came straight out of an Instagram post. I was worried it was going to be one of those over-hyped places, but the food was very good, and we did not have to wait to be seated. And guess what, I ordered a smoothie bowl again! An acai bowl topped with bananas, strawberries, and dragon fruit sorbet. Don’t forget to add peanut butter!
Avocado Factory
The Avocado Factory is a restaurant focused around, you guessed it, avocados. Everything on the menu comes with avocado in some way. We went the route of ordering a classic avocado toast topped with scrambled eggs and bacon. Paired with the delicious sourdough bread, it was so tasty! The staff was super friendly and even ended up giving us a free brownie when we were done eating!
Best Canggu Dinner Spots
Arte Canggu
Seriously, the best pizza I’ve ever had is at Arte Canggu. This may sound like I am exaggerating, but I really couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. We ended up coming here three times and ordering the pizza every single time. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, and they support local artists by displaying and selling their art. Arte also offers pasta and some other dishes, but I couldn’t bring myself to order anything other than the amazing wood-fired pizza.
Lola’s Cantina Mexicana
If you are a lover of classic Mexican food, you must put Lola’s Cantina Mexicana on your list. It always seemed to be busy when we would go by, so if you are planning to go on a weekend, you may want to make a reservation. The taco salad bowl was so good, as was the mango margarita.
Yuki
Yuki had some incredible sushi rolls. Where are my sushi lovers at? We could probably eat sushi three times a week, so of course we had to try some in Bali! While this place is not for the budget traveler, it does have some delectable sushi rolls. Again, the food was so good, we forgot to get a picture before we finished all of it! We ordered the torched salmon and the prawn tempura. Yumm!
Varuna Warung
I can’t forget our favorite local cuisine we tried, Varuna Warung. It is very budget friendly, and the food was tasty. You have the option to order one of the menu plates, or choose what you would like to put on your plate from behind the counter, in a buffet style. It was cheap and delicious, and ended up being one of Jake’s favorite spots.
Garden Canggu.
We decided to stop in Garden Canggu after walking by and seeing that it looked like a nice spot to get dinner and some happy hour drinks, and we ended up loving the food! They are a pizza restaurant, but we ended up ordering the Caesar salad and the curry. Everything tasted so fresh and wonderful!
These were all of my favorite Canggu restaurants. I really hope that you get to go and try them too! Which one is at the top of your list?
